Research: GNB's corporate beginnings

When this huge international battery-maker needed professional spadework to uncover its roots in turn-of-the-century New York state, Milestones went sleuthing in local, state and national records. GNB started corporate life as Gould Storage Battery, one of a family of railroad-related companies created by Charles Gould and sons near Albany in the 1890s. Three generations and several mergers later, the original Gould company's 100 year-old legacy was toasted by GNB with a centennial celebration in 1998.
