Our Story

Milestones Historical Consultants LLC was founded in the nation’s capital in 1987 by historian and author Kathi Ann Brown. In 1997, the firm relocated to historic Charlottesville, Virginia, the Blue Ridge foothill town best known as the home of Thomas Jefferson’s “little mountain” retreat, Monticello, and the University of Virginia.

For more than thirty years Milestones has helped dozens of clients preserve, present and profit from their most unique asset: their past. We ferret out essential facts, drill down for details and add relevant historical context to tell a good story and create a lasting legacy.
