EXHIBIT:  TO COLOR AMERICA: Portraits by Winold Reiss
The exhibit To Color America: Portraits by Winold Reiss appeared at the National Portrait Gallery, Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C., October 27, 1989–April 1, 1990. Milestones worked with curator Dr. Jeffrey C. Stewart to design the research database for the first national retrospective of German immigrant Winold Reiss’s early twentieth-century portraiture of Native Americans and African-Americans.

EXHIBIT:  SMITHSONIAN’S AMERICA
Milestones also consulted on Smithsonian’s America, a major traveling exhibit mounted in the summer of 1994 in Japan by the National Museum of American History. Drawing on the NMAH’s vast and varied collections, the show highlighted more than two centuries of American society, politics and culture. Milestones reviewed the exhibit script and edited the final captions of the ten-section extravaganza, which was viewed by more than one million visitors.

EXHIBIT:  PRODUCE FOR VICTORY 
Produce for Victory, a traveling exhibit of World War II homefront posters grew out of a collaboration between the Smithsonian Institution’s Traveling Exhibits office (SITES) and the National Federation of State Humanities Councils. Milestones researched and wrote an eight-page tabloid—”The Homefront Herald”—filled with period advertisements, photos, graphics and articles, to accompany this popular exhibit.
